11. A man of integrity is he who can stem the current trend; a man of honor is he who can compete with the sun and moon.

風俗日趨於奢淫，靡所底止①，安得有敦古樸之君子，力挽江河②；人心日喪其廉恥，漸至消亡，安得有講名節之大人，光爭日月。

【今文解譯】

世風正在變得越來越奢靡，且絲毫沒有到頭的跡象。怎麼才能找到一位崇尚古代敦厚質樸美德的正人君子，來改變當下的局麵並開創美好的未來？

世人正一天天喪失廉恥之心，都漸漸地變得不知廉恥起來；哪裏才能找到一位重視名節的高德之士，來為芸芸眾生樹立一個堪與日月爭輝的榜樣？

【English Translation】

The public morals are getting more and more extravagant and self-indulgent, and so far, there have been no indications that the situation will come to a stop. Under such circumstances, couldn抰 it be a good luck for us to have a man with traditional integrity who is able to stem the current trend and start a new departure?

The masses are morally sinking lower day by day, and if so going on continuously they may lose the sense of dignity and shame in the end. With this in mind, how can we not expect a great man of honor and glory to come out boldly to awake the multitude and be their model as shining as the sun and moon?

心正見神明 人生無安逸
