名利之不宜得者竟得之，福終為禍；困窮之最難耐者能耐之，苦定回甘。生資①之高在忠信，非關機巧②；學業之美在德行，不僅文章。

不該得到的名利竟然得到了，這種福分終究會變成禍患；最難熬的貧困熬過去了，最後肯定會苦盡甘來。

人品高貴不在於弄巧玩術，而在於忠誠信實；學業精深不僅僅表現在文章上，而且還反映在德行修為上。

【English Translation】

Undeserved fame and gain will finally change into a mishap even though you are already in the possession of them. If you can bravely endure destitution, all the bitterness you go through shall be replaced by sweetness.

Whether the aptitude of a man is high or not is not decided by adroitness but by faithfulness and honesty. The beauty of a man抯 academic achievement lies not only in writings but also in morality.

古樸君子力挽江河 名節之士光爭日月
