9. Rules and regulations must be observed in managing a family enterprise.

善謀生者，但令長幼內外，勤修恒業，而不必富其家；善處事者，但就是非可否，審定章程，而不必利於己。

【今文解譯】

善於管理家業的人，不必非得為家裏增添財富不可，但必須要使家中的男女老少，不論是在家的還是在外的，都能勤勤懇懇地為家業做好各自的事情。

善於處理事情的人，不必因為事情對自己有利才去做，但必須要就事情的對與錯該如何鑒別和審定預先訂立公正可行的章程，以便有關人等共同遵守。

【English Translation】

A man who is good at managing his family enterprise does not have to bend too much to the affluence of it, but has to instruct all the family members, old and young, inside and outside, to apply themselves hard to their duties in daily activities.

A man who is well versed in handling affairs does not have to do things only in the interest of his own, but has to establish and inspect in his community or circles the rules and regulations of right and wrong for the sake of justice.
