22. A merciful idea in your mind makes the auspicious spirit come after you.

一念之善，吉神隨之；一念之惡，厲鬼隨之。知此可以役使鬼神。

【今文解譯】

腦子裏存有善念，吉神就會伴你左右；腦子裏存有惡念，惡鬼就會隨你而行。明白這一點便可以讓各路鬼神都乖乖地聽命於你。

【English Translation】

Whenever there appears a merciful idea in your mind, the auspicious spirit will come after you. Likewise, whenever there appears a vicious idea in your mind, the evil spirit will attend you. Aware of this, you may have all the spirits, auspicious or evil, at your command.
