34. Don抰 do anything stupid to shame your parents and injure your offspring.

守身不敢妄為，恐貽羞於父母；創業還須深慮，恐貽害於子孫。

謹守自己的操行不敢輕舉妄動，是因為害怕自己的行為不夠謹慎而使父母蒙羞。

創立自己的事業之前深思熟慮，是因為害怕自己的計劃不夠周全而貽害子孫。

【English Translation】

In order not to leave a legacy of shame to his parents, one should avoid acting rashly in personal behavior.

When starting a venture, one should deliberate carefully for fear of involving his offspring into trouble.

待人不可勢利 習業萬勿粗心
