二一三、居官有節 居鄉有情

213. Be moderate when on an official position and when in retirement, be amiable and easy of approach.

士大夫居官，不可竿牘①無節，要使人難見，以杜幸端；居鄉，不可崖岸太高②，要使人易見，以敦舊好③。
