六二、立名者貪 用術者拙

62. Those who seek reputation are greedy and clumsy, those who resort to craft.

真廉無廉名，立名者正所以為貪；大巧無巧術，用術者乃所以為拙。

【今文解譯】

真正的廉潔無需廉潔為其名：為自己樹立廉潔的名聲，其實就是一種貪圖名聲的行為。

真正的才智無需機巧為其術：靠玩弄機巧來施展才智，其實就是為了掩飾自己的無能。

【English Translation】

True honesty has no reputation to seek; the person who seeks reputation for himself is called greedy.

Great wisdom needs no craft to resort to; the person who resorts to craft is called clumsy.
